Repair Procedures: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Genesis G80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Set the front tires straight-ahead.
  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and wait for at least three minutes before beginning the work.
  4. Connect the clock spring harness connector and horn harness connector to the clock spring.
  5. Centralize the clock spring.
    1. Turn the clock spring clockwise until it stops.
    2. From the stopped position, turn the clock spring counterclockwise 2 turns.
    3. Align the marks ( ).

  6. Install the steering wheel column shroud and the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and Shaft ")

  7. Connect the driver airbag (DAB) module connector and horn connector, and then install the driver airbag (DAB) module on the steering wheel.
    CAUTION: When connect the DAB connectors (A), make sure to connect doubly in below illustration.
    Fix the horn wire (C) and DAB inflator wire (D) tightly with wire clip (B)

  8. Install the air bag module.
  9. Reconnect the battery (-) cable.
  10. After replacing the airbag module, air bag systems and should verify that it is working horn.
NOTE: If this is ON the ignition switch, the air bag warning light has been turned on for 6 seconds, but must be turned off.
