CAN Communication Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF"
  2. Disconnect 4WD ECM connector and EPS ECU connector
  3. Measure the Resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of 4WD ECM harness connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of EPS ECU harness connector.
  4. Measure the Resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of 4WD ECM harness connector and CAN-LOW terminal of EPS ECU harness connector.

    Specification  : below 1Ω

  5. Is the measured Resistance within specification?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known - good "EPS ECU" or "4WD ECU" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "EPS ECU" or "4WD ECU" and Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
