Procedures Necessary For The 4WD ECU (=ITA) Exchange

  1. Connect GDS.
  2. IG key "ON"
  3. Back the 4WD correction value up by performing "4WD ECU Learned Data Back-Up & Writing (4WD ECU exchange)" in "Vehicle S/W Management  " menu of the GDS.
  4. IG key "OFF"
  5. Replacement of the 4WD ECU.
    1. Remove the two bolts fixing 4WD ECU.
    2. Remove the 4WD ECU.
    3. Insert the shaft of the new 4WD ECU into the shaft groove in the transfer case.
    4. Tighten the fixing bolt with proper force. [22Nm]
    5. Check the corrosion of the terminal pins.
    6. Connect the 4WD ECU connector.
  6. IG key "ON"
  7. Input the 4WD correction value backed up at step  3 by performing "4WD ECU Learned Data Back-Up & Writing (4WD ECU Exchange)" in "Vehicle S/W Management  " menu of the GDS.
  8. Wait for 10 sec. in idle condition. (this is for Adapting Clutch).
  9. IG key "OFF"
