Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • When removing the interior trim pieces, use a plastic panel removal tool not to damage the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Floor Console - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")

  3. Remove the front pillar trim
    1. To remove the front pillar trim, use the following tool (A).

    2. Insert the tool with a slight spread of the front pillar trim and pull the mounting clip (A) apart

      Information 

      • Be sure to replace the front pillar trim with a new clip.
      • Loosening the screw, remove the cap and replace the mounting clip (A).

    3. Remove the front pillar trim (A).

  4. Remove the mounting clips, remove both front door body side weatherstrip (A).

  5. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad side cover (A).

  6. After loosening the mounting screws, remove the crash pad lower panel (A).

  7. Press the lock pin, separate the connectors (A).

  8. Disconnect the diagnosis connector (A).

  9. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the cluster fascia upper garnish (A).

  10. Remove the crash pad garnish

    1. Loosening the mounting screws, using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad garnish (A).

    2. Press the lock pin to detach the mood lamp connector (A).

    1. Loosening the mounting screws, using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad garnish (A).

    2. Press the lock pin to detach the connectors (A).

  11. Loosening the mounting screws, remove the steering column shroud upper panel (A).

  12. Loosen the mounting screws by turning the steering wheel to the left and right, and remove the steering column shroud lower panel (A).

  15. Using the screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pas upper garnish (A).

  16. Loosening the screws, remove the center speaker (A).

  18. Detach the crash pad upper garnish mounting clip (A), disconnect the security connector (B).

  19. Loosening the mounting screws, remove the front monitor (A).

  20. Press the lock pin, detach the front monitor connector (A).

  21. Remove the glove box housing cover

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "GLOVE BOX HOUSING COVER ")

  22. Remove the Crash pad under cover

    1. After loosening the mounting bolts, remove the crash pad under cover (A).

    2. Disconnect the knee air bag (KAB) connector (A), driver under lamp connector (B).

    1. Press the lock pin, using a screwdriver or remover, remove the crash pad under cover (A)

    2. Press the lock pin, detach the passenger foot lamp connector (A).

  23. Loosening the mounting screws, remove the AVN keyboard assembly (A).

  27. Loosening the mounting bolt, nut and screw, remove the crash pad center panel (A).

  28. Detach the various connectors (A).

  30. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  31. Remove the multifunction switch assembly.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")

  32. Detach the PM sensor connector (A).

  33. Press the lock pin, detach the passenger airbag (PAB) connector (A).

  34. Remove the passenger airbag mounting nuts (A).

    Tightening torque:  16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

  35. Loosening the mounting bolt and nut, remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

    Tightening torque:  16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

  36. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
    • Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
