Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Signal monitoring
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Timing system
  3. Faulty crankshaft position sensor
  4. Damage to sensor mounting surface or flywheel
  5. Crankshaft or camshaft pulley position misalignment
  6. Engine out of sync status
Enable Condition
  • Stop synchronization detection
Threshold Value
  • More than 1 tooth difference (more than 1 additional tooth or less than -1 between two reference gaps)
Diagnostic Time
  • 4 engine stops and start cycles
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles
