Repair Procedures: Removal
- Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Loosen the wheel bolts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.
Tightening torque:
137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)
NOTE: - Loosen the G-sensor bracket mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
10.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.1 - 1.5 kgf.m, 8.0 - 10.8 lb-ft)
- Loosen the front wheel G-sensor bracket bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)
- Loosen the brake hose bracket mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)
- Loosen the fork bracket mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Do not reuse the bolt and nut.
- Loosen the upper arm ball joint mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)
- Remove the front upper arm from the front axle by using the SST (09456-4R100).
- Install the support bolts (A) to the front upper arm mounting bolt holes.
- Install the support body (B) to the front axle.
- Widen the gap of front axle by tightening the bolt (C).
- Remove the engine side cover (A).
- Remove the LH side cover (A).
- Remove the service cover (A).
- Disconnect the continuously variable damping control connector (A) and then remove the cap (B).
- Loosen front strut upper mounting nut (A) and then remove the front strut assembly.
Tightening torque:
53.9 - 73.5 N.m (5.5 - 7.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 54.2 lb-ft)
NOTE:- When tightening the front strut upper mounting nuts, tighten them in empty vehicle state.
- Do not reuse the mounting nut.
