Removal And Installation

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are facing straight ahead.
  3. Remove the driver airbag.

    (Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")

  4. Disconnect the steering wheel connector (A).

  5. Remove the steering wheel after loosening the mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    39.2 - 49.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Do not use the hammer for disconnecting on the steering column not to damage the steering column.
    • Do not reuse the steering lock bolt.
    • When assembling, match the gear teeth as showm below in the illustration.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
