General System Description

The ignition circuit consists of the battery, distributor, ignition switch, spark plugs, igniter, and primary and secondary wiring. Two types of ignition systems are utilized depending on vehicle application.

The LSi utilizes a conventional solid state ignition system with vacuum/centrifugal spark control.

The base and XFi models utilize an electronic spark control system which is monitored and controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM).
