Fuel System Pressure Release

WARNING: ALWAYS relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
  1. Remove fuel filler cap to relieve tank pressure. Unplug circuit opening relay, located under radio in instrument panel center console, and attached to ECM. Start engine and run until it stalls. Engage starter again for about 10 seconds to ensure fuel line pressure is dissipated.
  2. Turn ignition off. Slowly loosen cold start injector line at fuel rail. Use shop towel to absorb fuel that escapes as fuel pressure is relieved. When fuel stops leaking, tighten line.
