DTC 32 - Cruise Control Switch Shorted: Notes
The CCM is controlled by the cruise control switch. The cruise control switch is actually a series of switches and resistors that the CCM passes a voltage through. By passing a constant voltage signal through the cruise control switch, CCM is able to determine the position of each switch and can sense if a switch is closed to ground.
NOTE:
Numbers below refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks for short to ground in cruise on/off circuit.
- Checks for short to ground in resume/accel, set/coast or cancel circuit.
- Checks for short to ground in White/Blue wire or Red wire, or for a faulty SRS coil assembly.
- Checks for short to ground in Green/Black wire or White wire, a shorted SRS coil assembly or a shorted cruise control switch.
- Checks for correct resistance in set/coast circuit.
- Checks for correct resistance in resume/accel circuit.
- Checks for correct resistance in cancel circuit.
