Distributor Replacement

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Two distributor electrical connectors.
3. Two screws and distributor cap from distributor.

MARK

4. Distributor housing position on the cylinder head.
5. Distributor rotor position on the distributor housing.

REMOVE

7. Distributor housing mounting bolt and distributor from cylinder head.


INSTALL OR CONNECT

8. Distributor to cylinder head; loosely secure the two mounting bolts. Match the marks made on the engine during removal. Be certain that the rotor position also matches the marks made on the distributor during removal.
9. Distributor cap and two screws to distributor.
10. Distributor electrical connectors.
11. Negative battery cable.
