Code 11, Shorted Wheel Speed Sensor

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect speed sensor connector, and measure resistance across sensor terminals. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, replace speed sensor.
  2. If resistance is 1000-2000 ohms, disconnect EBCM connector. Measure resistance between EBCM terminal No. 16 (Orange wire) and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 20,000 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange wire.
  3. If resistance is greater than 20,000 ohms, measure resistance between RWAL EBCM terminals No. 16 (orange wire) and 17 (White wire). If resistance is greater than 20,000 ohms, replace RWAL EBCM. See RWAL ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is less than 20,000 ohms, repair short between Orange and White wires in speed sensor harness.
