Fuel Injector
When fuel injector(s) receive system voltage whenever ignition switch is in ON or START position. Fuel injector(s) are energized through a ground path provided by ECM. This opens fuel injector, allowing pressurized fuel to flow through injector and into intake manifold or cylinder. Air/fuel mixtures are controlled by fuel injector pulse width (ON time). ECM determines proper pulse width based upon input signals from various sensors and switches.
Fuel injection timing is determined by ECM based upon RPM signals received from Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor, Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
