Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensor:

KNOCK SENSOR REPLACEMENT

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative (-) battery cable.

^ Raise and suitably support vehicle.

2. KS wiring harness connector from KS.

3. KS from engine block.

Install or Connect

1. KS to engine block. Be sure threads are clean.

Tighten

^ KS to 19 Nm (14 lb.ft.).

2. KS wiring harness connector to the KS. Lower vehicle.

3. Negative (-) battery cable.

Tighten

^ Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft.).
