EGR Temperature Sensor

The EGR temperature sensor is located at base of EGR valve. A 5-volt reference voltage is supplied and monitored by ECM. Sensor resistance is converted to a temperature reading by ECM. Sensor resistance changes with respect to exhaust gas temperature. When exhaust gas temperature is high, resistance is low. When exhaust gas temperature is low, resistance is high. ECM uses this information to control EGR Solenoid Vacuum (EGR-SV) valve which controls EGR function.
