Fast Idle Air Valve (TBI Federal)
- Fast idle air valve is located in lower body of throttle body. Remove fast idle air valve cap on throttle body. With engine temperature at 140°F (60°C) or less, ensure fast idle air valve is open. See Fig 1 .
- Install fast idle air valve cap. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Remove fast idle air valve cap. Inspect fast idle air valve. Fast idle air valve should be closed. Replace fast idle air valve if defective.
