System Check

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Apply parking brake. BRAKE indicator should light. Release parking brake. BRAKE indicator will go out. Remove brake fluid reservoir cap and manually hold float down (brake fluid level switch closed). BRAKE indicator should light. Turn ignition switch past ON position, to bulb check. BRAKE indicator should light.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position. ECT gauge should indicate current engine coolant temperature. Fuel gauge should indicate approximate fuel level. Oil pressure indicator should light.
  3. Start engine. Oil pressure indicator should go out. Tachometer, if equipped, should indicate engine RPM.
  4. Run engine until normal operation temperature is attained. ECT gauge should indicate current engine coolant temperature.
  5. After performing appropriate testing procedure(s) and making repairs, repeat SYSTEM CHECK to ensure system is operational.
