System Testing

  1. Disconnect vacuum hose No. 28 from lower fitting of choke opener. Attach vacuum pump and apply vacuum. Vacuum should remain steady.
  2. If vacuum remains steady, go to step 3). If vacuum did not remain steady, check vacuum hose No. 28 for leakage or damage. If hose is okay, replace cranking leak solenoid valve and retest.
  3. Turn ignition switch to "ON" position. Vacuum should be released. If vacuum is released, test is complete. If vacuum is not released, go to next step.
  4. Check for voltage at cranking leak solenoid valve (control box No. 1), with ignition switch turned to "ON" position. If there is no voltage, check wiring and fuse. Retest for voltage.

  5. If voltage is present, check vacuum hose No. 28 for restrictions or blockage. If hose is okay, replace cranking leak solenoid valve and retest system.
