Throttle Body
The throttle body is a 2-venturi side-draft type with primary air horn at top. Lower portion of throttle body is heated by engine coolant to prevent icing in cold weather operation. Primary throttle valve has a throttle opening sensor located on shaft. This sensor monitors changes in throttle position. The ECU senses these changes and makes adjustments to injector duration time.
On vehicles equipped with manual transmission, a dashpot is used to prevent sudden closing of throttle during gear shifting.
