A/T Idle Control Solenoid Valve: Prelude
- A/T idle control solenoid valve is activated when shift lever is placed in any position except "P" or "N". When solenoid valve is activated, it allows vacuum into vacuum hose No. 23 between solenoid valve and air flow tube.
- When solenoid valve is activated, 9 volts or more should be available between Black/Yellow terminal (A) and Green terminal (B) of 6 cavity connector of control box.
- Unplug 6 cavity rectangular connector from control box. Disconnect vacuum hose No. 23 from vacuum hose manifold. Apply vacuum to hose No. 23. Valve should hold vacuum.
- If valve does not hold vacuum, replace valve. Connect battery positive terminal to Black/Yellow terminal of control box coupler and battery negative terminal to Blue connector. Apply vacuum to hose. Valve should not hold vacuum. If valve holds vacuum, replace valve.
