IGNITION NOISE FROM RADIO

Model: ALL

App: ALL

Yr: ALL

No: HSN986-07

Symptom: Noise/Vibration

SERVICE INFORMATION

Honda distributor rotors come with silicone grease on the rotor terminal. Once installed, these rotors may transmit ignition noise through the radio. The most distinguishing symptom is a popping noise that increases and decreases in frequency with engine RPM.

If you have radio noise that fits this description, try removing the silicone grease from the rotor terminal with emery cloth and solvent.

Also, remember to remove the grease before installing a new rotor.
