Pump Pressure Check

  1. Check fluid level and belt tension. Adjust as necessary. Disconnect outlet hose from pump. Install Pressure Gauge Set (07406-0010200 ). Fully open shut-off and pressure control valves.
  2. Start engine and let idle. Turn steering wheel from lock-to-lock several times until fluid is at operating temperature. Completely close shut-off valve.
    CAUTION: Do not keep shut-off valve closed for more than 5 seconds. Pump damage could result.
  3. Gradually close pressure control valve until pressure gauge needle stabilizes. Read pressure. Fully open shut-off valve. Pump pressure should be at least 1138 psi (80 kg/cm2 ). Replace pump if pressure is too low.
