July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Checking Fuel Pump Operation (Without Scan Tool)

  1. Remove interior trim. Remove access panel from floor. Turn ignition off and disconnect fuel pump 2-pin electrical connector (C566). Locate PGM-FI main relay 7-pin connector (C425) behind left side of dash, on bracket. See ELECTRICAL COMPONENT LOCATOR article. Using a jumper wire, connect PGM-FI main relay terminals No. 4 (Yellow/Green wire) and No. 5 (Black/Yellow wire) together. See Fig 1 .
  2. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between body ground and fuel pump 2-pin electrical connector terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Green wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If battery voltage is available, check fuel pump ground circuit. If ground circuit is okay, replace fuel pump. See REMOVE/INSTALL/OVERHAUL article. If battery voltage is not available, check wiring harness between PGM-FI main relay and fuel pump harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
