Component Tests: Transmitter

NOTE: If doors unlock or lock with transmitter, but LED on transmitter fails to illuminate, transmitter is faulty. If any door is open, doors cannot be locked with transmitter. If doors are unlocked with transmitter, but not opened within 30 seconds, doors will automatically relock. Doors will not lock or unlock with transmitter when key is in ignition switch.
  1. Check remote transmitter operation. If remote transmitter operates properly but LED on remote transmitter does not illuminate, replace remote transmitter. Depress LOCK or UNLOCK button 5 or 6 times to reset remote transmitter. If remote transmitter operates properly, remote transmitter is okay. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step.
  2. Open remote transmitter and check for water damage. If any water damage exists, replace remote transmitter. If water damage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Install a new remote transmitter battery. Depress LOCK or UNLOCK button 5 or 6 times. If remote transmitter operates properly, remote transmitter is okay. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, go to next step.
  4. Reprogram remote transmitter(s). See TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Recheck system operation. If remote transmitter operates properly, remote transmitter is okay. If remote transmitter does not operate properly, replace remote transmitter.
