Crankshaft Position/Top Dead Center/Cylinder Position (CKP/TDC/CYP) Sensor

Each sensor generates a separate signal whether grouped together or separate. CKP sensor determines fuel injection timing and ignition of each cylinder and detects engine speed. TDC sensor determines ignition timing at start-up (cranking) and detects when crank angle signal is abnormal. CYP sensor detects position of cylinder No. 1 for sequential fuel injection to each cylinder. On Accord 3.0L and Odyssey, the CYP sensor has been replaced with a second TDC sensor.
