Release Motor & Remote Control Switch Test

- Remove appropriate sliding door trim panel. See SLIDING DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect release motor and remote control switch 4-pin harness connector. See Fig 1. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage to release motor and remote control switch harness connector terminal C1 and momentarily ground release motor and remote control switch harness connector terminal C2. See Fig 1. If release motor actuates, go to next step. If release motor does not actuate, replace release motor and remote control switch.
- With handle switch in ON position, check for continuity between release motor and remote control switch harness connector terminals C3 and C4. Continuity should exist. With handle switch in OFF position, check for continuity between release motor and remote control switch harness connector terminals C3 and C4. Continuity should not exist. Replace release motor and remote control switch if continuity is not as specified.
