Ignition Switch (Hatchback): Test

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .

Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Disconnect the 5P connector from the under-dash fuse/relay box.

Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table. See Fig 2 .

If the continuity checks do not agree with the table, replace the steering lock assembly (see STEERING LOCK REPLACEMENT ).
