Exploded View: Removal
- Drain the engine oil (see Engine Oil Replacement
).
- Turn the crankshaft so that the No. 1 piston is at top dead center (see step 3 on TIMING BELT INSTALLATION
).
- Remove the timing belt (see TIMING BELT REMOVAL
).
- Remove the idler pulley.
- Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, then remove the timing belt drive pulley (see TIMING BELT DRIVE PULLEY REPLACEMENT
).
- Attach the chain hoist to the engine on the power steering (P/S) pump bracket (see step 53 on ENGINE REMOVAL
).
- Remove the jack from under the oil pan.
- Remove the VTEC solenoid valve and oil filter assembly (see VTEC SOLENOID VALVE TEST
).
- Remove the oil pan (see OIL PAN REMOVAL
).
- Remove the oil screen (A).
