Reverse Lock System Circuit Troubleshooting

  1. Check whether DTC P0705 or P0706 is indicated.

    Is either DTC indicated? 

    1. YES -  Do the troubleshooting for the indicated code.
    2. NO -  Go to step 2.
  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  3. Shift the shift lever to the P position while pushing the shift lock release.
  4. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  5. Press the brake pedal and release the accelerator, shift the shift lever out of the P position, and check that the shift lock solenoid operates.

    Does the shift lock solenoid work properly? 

    1. YES -  Check the reverse lock (shift lock mechanism). If the mechanism does not work, repair or replace the shift lever assembly.
    2. NO -  Do the Shift Lock System Circuit Troubleshooting (see SHIFT LOCK SYSTEM CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING  ).
