Latch Position Switch Test

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 Honda Odyssey, 2016 Honda Odyssey, 2015 Honda Odyssey, 2014 Honda Odyssey, and 2013 Honda Odyssey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove the sliding door sill trim (see SLIDING DOOR OPENING ), and the sliding door panel (see SLIDING DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Disconnect CESS articulated harness connector B (21P) (A).

Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
NOTE:
- Quickly disconnect the battery when the motor is running and has reached the limit position.
- After testing, with the sliding door in the fully closed position, momentarily run the motor in the forward rotation direction from the reverse rotation motor limit position.

HALF LATCH POSITION

FULL LATCH POSITION

If there is no continuity, repair an open or high resistance in the wire(s). If the wire harness is OK, remove the sliding door rear latch (see SLIDING DOOR REAR LATCH REPLACEMENT ).
Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from power sliding door rear latch.

Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the sliding door rear latch (see SLIDING DOOR REAR LATCH REPLACEMENT ).
