Control Unit Input Test: MICU

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 Honda Odyssey, 2016 Honda Odyssey, 2015 Honda Odyssey, 2014 Honda Odyssey, and 2013 Honda Odyssey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the driver's kick panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS ).
  3. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors E, F, G, H, M, P, and Q.
NOTE: All connector views are wire side of female terminals.

  4. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
    • If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
    • If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
  5. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, reconnect the connectors to driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, then go to step 6.
NOTE: Before testing, make sure the No. C6 (7.5 A) and the No. C7 (20 A) fuses in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is OK.
    CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST RESULT

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
M4 ORN Connect battery power to terminal M4 (or M6), and terminal M6 (or M4) to body ground with jumper wires. Check actuator operation: The front passenger's door lock actuator should UNLOCK (or LOCK).
    • Faulty front passenger's door lock actuator
    • An open or high resistance in the wire
    M6 LT GRN
M3 ORN Connect battery power to terminal M3 (or M7), and terminal M7 (or M3) to body ground with jumper wires. Check actuator operation: The driver's door lock actuator should UNLOCK (or LOCK).
    • Faulty driver's door lock actuator
    • An open or high resistance in the wire
    M7 RED
H13 BRN Connect battery power to terminal H13 (or H12), and terminal H12(or H13) to body ground with jumper wires. Check actuator operation: The right sliding door lock actuator should UNLOCK (or LOCK).
    • Faulty right sliding door lock actuator
    • An open or high resistance in the wire
    H12 YEL
  6. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, reconnect the connectors to driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, then go to step 8.
