Navigation Display Unit Inputs and Outputs

Navigation Display Unit Connector (A) (20P) 

VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

Terminal Number Wire Color Terminal Name Description Voltage (about) Symptom
1 WHT/RED +B (+B power source) Continuous power source Battery voltage If open: Screen completely off (no backlight visible).
If short to ground: Blows fuse No. 7 (7.5 A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
2 YEL/RED ACC (Accessory) Power source for accessory Battery voltage at ACC (I) If open: Display and buttons do not work.
If short to ground: Blows fuse No. 32 (7.5 A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
3 WHT AUDIO BUS+ (GA-NET) Data bus+ GA-NET 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V (depends on bus traffic) If open: XM radio, Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
If short to ground: XM radio, audio disc changer. Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
4 GRY(1) AUDIO BUS SH (Shield audio) Shield for terminals No. 3, 13 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
5 LT GRN ECU BUS+ (GA-NET) (Display bus positive) Data bus+ GA-NET 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V (depends on bus traffic) If open: XM radio. Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
If short to ground: XM radio, audio disc changer, Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
6 YEL SECURITY+ Security signal to rear screen 0 V If open: If security system set, it will not trip when screen is removed.
If short to ground: The security system set, it will not trip when screen is removed.
8 WHT R SIG1 (Red signal) Red color signal 0.2 V AC average in RGB color diagnostic mode If open: Red color missing (see RGB Color diagnostic).
If short to ground: Red color missing (see RGB Color diagnostic).
9 RED G SIG1 (Green signal) Green color signal 0.2 VAC average in RGB color diagnostic mode If open: Green color missing (see RGB Color diagnostic).
If short to ground: Green color missing (see RGB Color diagnostic).
10 BLK GND (Ground) (G402) Ground for display unit 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
11 RED/BLK ILL+ (Illumination positive) Parking light on signal from dash and console lights Battery voltage if lights on: otherwise 0 V If open: When brightness = Auto, night mode for the display is inoperative when lights on.
If short to ground: Blows fuse 7 in under-dash fuse/relay box.
12 RED ILL CNT Ground for illumination light With full dash lights brightness, 0 V If open: When brightness = Auto, night mode for the display is inoperative when lights on.
If short to ground: No change to display.
13 BLU/RED AUDIO BUS-(GA-NET) Data bus - GA-NET 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V depends on bus traffic If open: XM radio, Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
If short to ground: XM radio, audio disc changer, and the navigation hard and touch buttons work OK.
14 GRY(1) SH ECU BUS (GA-NET) (Shield display bus) Shield for display bus terminal No. 5, 15 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
15 PUR ECU BUS-(GA-NET) (Display bus negative) Data bus - GA-Net 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V depends on bus traffic If open: XM radio, Navigation buttons and touch screen do not work.
If short to ground: XM radio, audio disc changer, and the navigation hard and touch buttons work OK.
16 GRN/WHT SECURITY- Security signal from audio disc changer 0 V If open: The security system set, it will not trip when screen is removed.
If short to ground: If security system set, it will not trip when screen is removed.
17 BLU GND SIG1 (Ground signal) Ground for color signal 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
18 YEL B SIG1 (Blue signal) Blue color signal 0.2 V AC average in RGB color diagnostic mode If open: Blue color missing (see RGB Color diagnostic).
If short to ground: Blue color missing (see RGB Color diagnostic).
19 BRN C SIG1 (Composite signal) Composite video (vertical/horizontal) synchronizing signal 0.2 V AC average in RGB color diagnostic mode If open: Picture rolls horizontally, colors still visible.
If short to ground: Picture rolls horizontally, colors still visible.
20 GRY(1) SH SIG1 (Shield signal) Shield for terminals No. 8, 9, 17, 18, 19 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
(1) The shielded wires have a heat-shrink tube insulating the outside of the wire. The color of the insulating tube, typically black or dark gray, may not match the color of the wire shown on the circuit diagram.

9 GRN DISP OPEN Display open/close signal 0-3.3 V If open: CD Eject/Load function does not work.
If short to ground: CD Eject/Load function works.
10 GRN/RED CD EJECT CD eject signal 0-3.3 V If open: Display can be opened or closed.
If short to ground: Display cannot be opened or closed.
