System Check

  1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  3. Monitor the SYSTEM CHECK in IMMOBILIZER INFO with the HDS.
  4. If the HDS displays NORMAL N-1, the immobilizer system is OK at this time. If the HDS displays any other messages, check as follows:

    A-1 The key is not registered
    • This key is not registered in the immobilizer control unit-receiver. Try to register keys by using "KEYS".
    • The communication was not good between the antenna and the immobilizer key by influence of metal such as key chains.
    • The communication was not good between the antenna and the immobilizer key by battery voltage low.
    A-2 Communication error between key and immobilizer control unit-receiver
    • Intermittent interruption between the transponder and immobilizer control unit-receiver.
    • The immobilizer key type is different. It is not for this vehicle but for another one or for other company's one.
    • Key failure (transponder failure)
    • The communication was not good between the antenna and the immobilizer key by influence of metal such as key chains.
    • The communication was not good between the antenna and the immobilizer key by battery voltage low.
    A-3 No communication between key and immobilizer control unit-receiver
    • The ignition switch was turned to ON (II) with a non-immobilizer key.
    • The immobilizer key type is different. It is not for this vehicle but for another one or for other company's one.
    • Key failure (transponder failure)
    • The communication was not good between the antenna and the immobilizer key by influence of metal such as key chains.
    • The communication was not good between the antenna and the immobilizer key by battery voltage low.
    • Immobilizer control unit-receiver failure.
    B-1 The ECM/PCM is not registered
    • The PCM was not registered. Try to register the PCM by using the HDS.
    • The communication was not good between the PCM and the immobilizer control unit-receiver by battery voltage low.
    • The communication was not good between the immobilizer control unit-receiver and the PCM by influence of some noise.
    B-2 Error communication format in PCM
    • The PCM was not registered. Try to register the PCM by using the HDS.
    • The communication was not good between the PCM and the immobilizer control unit-receiver by battery voltage low.
    • The communication was not good between the immobilizer control unit-receiver and the PCM by influence of some noise.
    C-1 IMOES unit is not registered The imoes unit was not registered correctly. Try to register the imoes unit by using the HDS.
    C-2 Error of communication format between IMOES unit and immobilizer control unit receiver
    • The imoes unit was not registered correctly.
    • The communication was not good between the PCM and the immobilizer control unit-receiver by battery voltage low.
    • The communication was not good between the immobilizer control unit-receiver and the PCM by influence of some noise.
    • Try to register the MICU/IMOES unit by using the HDS.
    D-1 S-net line short
    • Harness short from the PCM to the immobilizer control unit-receiver. (IMOCD/S-NET line short)
    • The communication was not good between the PCM and the immobilizer control unit-receiver by battery voltage low.
    • The communication was not good between the immobilize control unit-receiver and the PCM by influence of some noise.
    • Immobilizer control unit-receiver failure.
    • PCM failure.
    D-2 No communication between IMOES unit and immobilizer unit
    • Blown fuse.
    • Harness open from the imoes to immobilizer control unit-receiver and the imoes unit.
    • The communication was not good between the imoes unit and the immobilizer control unit-receiver by battery voltage low.
    • The communication was not good between the immobilizer control unit-receiver and the imoes unit by influence of some noise.
    • Immobilizer control-receiver unit failure.
    • IMOES unit failure.
    D-3 No communication between PCM and immobilize control unit-receiver
    • Blown fuse.
    • Harness open from the PCM to the immobilizer control unit-receiver.
    • The communication was not good between the PCM and the immobilizer control unit-receiver by battery voltage low.
    • The communication was not good between the immobilizer control unit-receiver and the PCM by influence of some noise.
    • Immobilizer control unit-receiver failure.
    • PCM failure.
    E-1 Initial registration of immobilizer control unit is not completed The immobilizer control unit-receiver was not registered. Try to register the immobilizer control unit-receiver by using the HDS.
    E-2 The PCM was not registered. Try to register the PCM by using the HDS.
    E-3 The imoes unit was not registered. Try to register the IMMOBILIZER-KEYLESS CONTROL UNIT by using the HDS.
    E-4 The immobilizer control unit-receiver was not registered. Try to register the IMMOBILIZER-KEYLESS CONTROL UNIT by using the HDS.

    • The imoes unit was not registered. Try to register the imoes unit by using the HDS.
    • IMOES UNIT failure.
    F-1 Special Mode Immobilizer system is under registration mode. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and to ON (II) so as to change normal mode.
