In-Car Temperature Sensor Test
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Honda Pilot, 2010 Honda Pilot, and 2009 Honda Pilot. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Before testing, check for HVAC DTCs. (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION
)
- Remove the humidity/in-car temperature sensor (see HUMIDITY/IN-CAR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT ).
- Connect the humidity/in-car temperature sensor 4P connector.
- Test the humidity/in-car temperature sensor while holding it in front of the dashboard center vent.
- Measure the resistance with the system set to Max Cool.
- Measure the resistance with the system set to Max Hot.
- Compare the resistance reading between terminals No. 4 and No. 3 of the humidity/in-car temperature sensor with the specifications shown in the graph; the resistance should be within the specifications.
- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the humidity/in-car temperature sensor (see HUMIDITY/IN-CAR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT ).
