Voice Control Switch Test/Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component location (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) in the SRS section before doing repairs or service.
- Remove the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ).
- Remove the voice control switch (see STEERING WHEEL DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).
- Remove the HFL-navigation voice control switch (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ).
- Measure the resistance between the terminals No. 2 and No. 4 in each switch position according to the table.

RESISTANCE REFERENCEPosition Resistance No button pressed About 10 kΩ Navigation TALK button pressed About 2.2 kΩ Navigation BACK button pressed About 652 Ω - If the resistance is not as specified, replace the HFL-navigation voice control switch.
- Use a diode tester between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
- If the diode test is bad, replace the switch.
- Install the navigation voice control switch in the reverse order of removal.
