VSA - TCS Control
Overview
The TCS (Traction Control System) control makes a judgment on the speed and slip condition (spinning) of each wheel from each wheel speed sensor signal. If both driving wheels are spinning, the engine TCS control is performed. If one wheel alone is slipping, the brake TCS control is performed.
Engine TCS Control
If the VSA control unit detects a drive wheel slipping during starting, accelerating or cornering, a torque down signal is sent to the management ECU. The torque of the driving wheel is reduced by the management ECU to maintain tyre grip on the road surface.
Brake TCS Control
During brake TCS control, the VSA control unit sends a signal to the modulator unit when wheel slipping is detected.
