If the performance of the traction motor drops, the output torque may be difficult to control as specified. To monitor the performance of the traction motor torque, the motor control module monitors the estimated torque. If the estimated torque cannot follow the specified torque for a specified time, the motor control module in the power control unit (PCU) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
