Driver's Power Window Motor: Test
Motor Test
- Driver's Door Panel - Remove Front Door Panel Removal
- Driver's Power Window Motor - Test
1. Connect the connectors (A), then install the door panel as needed. 2. Test the motor in each direction by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground to the connector (B) according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, remove the driver's door regulator Front Door Regulator Removal , then go to step 3.
- If the motor runs smoothly, go to the Hall IC Unit (Pulser) Test.
3. Test the driver's power window motor (A) by connecting 12 volt battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect 12 volt battery power immediately. 4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, the driver's power window motor is faulty; Front Power Window Motor Removal and Installation
If the motor runs smoothly, troubleshoot the driver's power window motor circuit.
Hall IC Unit (Pulser) Test
- Driver's Door Panel Barrier A - Remove Front Door Checker Removal and Installation - Step 3
- Hall IC Unit (Pulser) - Test
1. Disconnect the connector (A). 2. Check for continuity between driver's power window motor connector terminal No. 4 and body ground. There should be continuity.
- If there is continuity, connect the motor connector and install the Door Panel Barrier A Front Door Checker Removal and Installation , then go to step 4.
- If there is no continuity, check for an open or high resistance in the BLK wire or poor ground (G401).
3. Connect the connectors (A), then install the door panel as needed. 4. Remove the power window master switch
5. Connect the connector (B).
6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
7. Do the power window master switch input test terminals No. 13, No. 17, and No. 19 .
- If the voltage is as specified, replace the power window master switch (C).
- If the voltage is not specified, the Hall IC Unit (Pulser) is faulty; replace the driver's power window motor .
8. Remove the door panel and disconnect the power window master switch connector.
MTR SVCC circuit
Power window master switch connector No. 13 Body ground MTR PLSA and MTR PLSB circuits
Power window master switch connector No. 17 No. 31 No. 19 No. 31 - If the voltage is as specified, replace the power window master switch Power Window Master Switch - Removal and Installation (C).
- If the voltage is not specified, the Hall IC Unit (Pulser) is faulty; replace the driver's power window motor Front (Driver's) Power Window Motor - Removal and Installation .
- All Removed Parts - Install
1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. - Power Window Control Unit - Reset
8. Remove the door panel and disconnect the power window master switch connector.
