1. Camshaft Timing - Inspect

   Preconditions 

   • Cylinder Head Cover Removed

   Procedure/Specifications 

   1. Turn the crankshaft to align the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC); the white mark (a) on the crankshaft pulley lines up with the pointer (b) on the cam chain case. (Figure 1)

   2. With the No. 1 piston at top dead center (TDC), make sure the \"UP\" mark (c) on VTC actuator B is at the top. (Figure 2)

   3. Make sure the TDC marks (d) on VTC actuator A and VTC actuator B are aligned. The TDC marks (e) on VTC actuator B should line up with the top edge of the cam chain case (f). (Figure 2)

   Specifications

   Marks are aligned.

   Result 

   • If the marks are not aligned, remove the cam chain and reinstall the cam chain properly .
