- VTEC Rocker Arm - Test (VTEC Inoperative State)
Preconditions
Procedure/Specifications
1. Rotate the crankshaft pulley clockwise.
2. Make sure that the secondary rocker arm (a), the primary rocker arm (b), and the mid rocker arm (c) are separated and that the secondary rocker arm and the mid rocker arm moves independently.

- If it is abnormal, check that the pistons in the rocker arms move smoothly. If any rocker arm needs replacing, replace the rocker arm assembly .

Preconditions
Procedure/Specifications
1. Check that the air pressure on the shop air compressor gauge indicates over 400 kPa (4.08 kgf/cm 2, 58.0 psi).
2. Inspect the valve clearance - Refer to: Valve Inspection or Valve Clearance Adjustment .
3. Install the VCM air adapter to the inspection hole, then connect the air pressure regulator. (Figure 1)

4. With the specified air pressure applied, rotate the crankshaft pulley clockwise. Make sure that the secondary rocker arm (a) moves together with the mid rocker arm (b) and the primary rocker arm (c). (Figure 2)

Result
