Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: Do not tighten the fasteners until they have all been started.

Install the rocker panel protector to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Loosely install all of the mounting bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
Install the EVAP canister vent valve bracket. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls.
Install the assist step if equipped. Refer to Assist Step Replacement (Tubular BVE) or Assist Step Replacement (Removable U Step) .
Lower the vehicle.
