Removal Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
Remove the assist step if equipped. Refer to Assist Step Replacement (Tubular BVE) or Assist Step Replacement (Removable U Step) .
Remove the EVAP canister vent valve bracket. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Vent Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls.

Remove the mounting bolts.
Remove the rocker panel protector from the vehicle.
