Tools Required

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora and 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  Engine flywheel installation requires adequate space for installation. If the engine stand does not allow suitable space to use the J 36660-A  install the engine flywheel with the engine properly supported on the floor or on a bench.

  1. Place the engine flywheel in position on the crankshaft.
  2. Install two bolts in location at the top and bottom of the engine flywheel bolt pattern allowing the engine flywheel to hang in position.

  3. Install the J 43442. 
    CAUTION: Refer to in FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the remaining engine flywheel bolts.

    Tighten 

    1. 4.1. Tighten the engine flywheel bolts to 15 N.m (11 ft lbs).
    2. 4.2. Tighten the engine flywheel bolts an additional 50 degrees using the J 36660-A. 
  5. Remove the J 43442.
