Installation Procedure

- Slide the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly (2) onto the steering column.
- Screw the 3 pan head tapping screws (1) into the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly (2).
Tighten: Tighten the screws (1) to 3 N.m (30 lb in).
- Route the wire harness assembly down the steering column.
- Connect the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly connector at the base of the column.
- Install the wire harness straps to the wire harness assembly.
- Remove the centering tab from the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly.
- Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement
- Install the steering wheel to the steering column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
IMPORTANT:
A new multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly will come precentered with a centering tab attached. Do NOT remove the centering tab until installation is complete. Failure to follow procedure will cause a misalignment to the SIR coil and centering will be required.
If reusing the existing multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly, you must centering the SIR coil. Refer to centering the SIR coil assembly.
If reusing the existing multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly, you must centering the SIR coil. Refer to centering the SIR coil assembly.
