Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 GMC Canyon and 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the NEW solenoid plate on the BPMV.
- Install the new O-rings on the EBCM.
- Install the BPMV to the EBCM.
- Install the NEW collars in the BPMV and the EBCM.
- Install the mounting screws for the EBCM.
Tighten: Tighten the mounting screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- Install the ABS module to the vehicle.
- Install mounting nuts for the ABS module.
Tighten: Tighten the mounting nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Remove the rubber plugs from the brake pipes.
- Remove the shipping plugs from the EBCM assembly.
- Install the brakes pipes to the EBCM assembly.
Tighten: Tighten all the brake pipe fittings to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
- Remove the rubber plugs from the master cylinder.
- Install the brake pipes from the EBCM assembly to the master cylinder.
Tighten: Tighten all the brake pipe fittings to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
- Remove the electrical connector from the behind the brake booster.
- Install the electrical connector.
- Install the rear brake pipe to the retainer at the cowl.
- Remove the paper and or shop towels from between the EBCM assembly and the inner fender.
- Bleed the ABS brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) in Hydraulic Brakes.
NOTE:

in Cautions and Notices.
IMPORTANT:
When installing the mounting screws for the EBCM to the BPMV, always finger tighten the screws before torquing to the proper torque specification.

When installing the brake pipe fitting, always finger tighten the fitting before torquing to the proper torque specification.
