Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW electronic brake and traction control module gasket (3) to the master cylinder.
  2. IMPORTANT: Ensure the locating pins remain in the master cylinder body.
  3. Install the electronic brake and traction control module (2) to the brake master cylinder.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
    IMPORTANT: Hand install all of the electronic brake and traction control module bolts to properly locate the electronic brake and traction control module before tightening the bolts.
  5. Install the bolts (1) for the electronic brake and traction control module.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

  6. Install the bracket (5) for the fluid level sensor electrical harness.
  7. Install the mounting bracket bolt (6).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in)

  9. Install the power brake booster (6). Refer to Power Brake Booster Replacement .
  10. Install the master cylinder reservoir (3). Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .
  11. Remove the brake master cylinder assembly from CH-47830  . See Special Tools .
  12. Install the brake master cylinder and power brake booster assembly. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement (LHD)  or Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement (RHD) .
  13. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual without RPO BRM) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual with RPO BRM) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure without RPO BRM) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure with RPO BRM) .
  14. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
