Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac STS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

  1. Install the BPMV to the bracket.
  2. Install the BPMV nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the EBCM electrical connector (1).
  4. Rotate the locking lever (2) rearward.
  5. Ensure the electrical connector and locking lever are fully engaged into the EBCM (3).

  6. Connect the LR brake pipe fitting (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  7. Connect the RF brake pipe fitting (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  8. Connect the LF brake pipe fitting (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  9. Connect the RR brake pipe fitting (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  10. Position the washer solvent container and install the fasteners. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (w/CE4) or Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement (w/o CE4) .
  11. Install the front air deflector shield. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  12. Lower the vehicle.

  13. Connect the secondary BPMV inlet brake pipe fitting (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  14. Connect the primary BPMV inlet brake pipe fitting (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  15. Connect the brake fluid pressure sensor electrical connector.
  16. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) .
  17. Bleed the antilock brake system. Refer to Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure 
  18. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
