Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution .
  1. Remove the brake master cylinder and power brake booster assembly. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement (LHD)  or Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement (RHD) .
  2. Install the CH-47830  to the master cylinder assembly. See Special Tools .
  3. Position the CH-47830  with the master cylinder assembly in a vise. See Special Tools .

  5. Remove the master cylinder reservoir (3). Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .
  6. Remove the power brake booster (6). Refer to Power Brake Booster Replacement .

  8. Remove the mounting bolts for the electronic brake and traction control module (1).
  9. Remove the mounting bolt (6) for the fluid level sensor.
  10. Remove the bracket (5) for the fluid level sensor wiring harness.
  11. IMPORTANT: When removing the electronic brake and traction control module from the brake master cylinder, ensure the locating pin remains in the brake master cylinder body.
  12. Remove the electronic brake and traction control module (2) from the brake master cylinder.
  13. IMPORTANT: DO NOT re-use the electronic brake and traction control module gasket.
  14. Remove and discard the gasket (3) from the brake master cylinder.
