SOD System Alerts: Notes

A SOD system alert consists of the following:

When in the monitoring state and a vehicle is in the detection zone, the left or right outside rear view mirror indicator lights up to warn of a vehicle in the detection zone.
If a turn signal is activated and a vehicle is detected on the same side, the SOD left or right outside rear view mirror indicator flashes to give an extra warning to the driver not to change lanes.
The SOD indicator stays on when the system is disabled due to a sensor blockage, if there is a loss of serial data communication or a malfunction exists in the SOD system and the DIC displays SERVICE SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT SYSTEM.
