SOD System Alerts: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac STS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
A SOD system alert consists of the following:
- When in the monitoring state and a vehicle is in the detection zone, the left or right outside rear view mirror indicator lights up to warn of a vehicle in the detection zone.
- If a turn signal is activated and a vehicle is detected on the same side, the SOD left or right outside rear view mirror indicator flashes to give an extra warning to the driver not to change lanes.
- The SOD indicator stays on when the system is disabled due to a sensor blockage, if there is a loss of serial data communication or a malfunction exists in the SOD system and the DIC displays SERVICE SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT SYSTEM.
