Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Canyon and 2010 Chevrolet Colorado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate control switch.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal listed below and ground.
- Traction Control Switch terminal A (with NP1)
- I/P Multifunction Switch terminal H (without NP1)
- Ignition ON, verify the scan tool BCM TCS Switch State parameter is Released.
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit test normal replace the BCM.
- Traction Control Switch terminal C (with NP1)
- I/P Multifunction Switch terminal J (without NP1)
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit test normal replace the BCM.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the terminals listed below. Verify the scan tool BCM TCS Switch State parameter is Pressed.
- Traction Control Switch signal circuit terminal C and ground circuit terminal A (with NP1).
- I/P Multifunction Switch signal circuit terminal J and ground circuit terminal H (without NP1).
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal replace the BCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the control switch.
